Training in Community Development and Social Work takes place under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MoHEST). The training in Community Development and Social Work takes 3 years and includes both theoretical and practical training. The Kenya National Examination Council is the examination body for the course. This nationally recognized diploma will enable graduates to work in the healthcare sector in Kenya and also in many other countries.

To be eligible for admission for Diploma in Community Health a student needs to have scored at least a C-minus as a mean score in the KCSE (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) examinations and for a Certificate in Community Health a student needs to have scored at least D + (Plus) in KSCE. If you sat for another secondary school examination = (e.g. British or American system) please let your documents be certified by the KNEC (Kenya National Examination Council). They will inform you what will be considered the equivalent as per the KCSE. It is also possible to follow a separate module on Community Health if your interest is mainly in the health sector.

Diploma is 3 Years while Certificate is 2 years.
